Doyle: *realizes Bell is in mortal danger* *runs to get help*

Random Policeman: *is eating a pie and reluctant to go*

Doyle: Look, fetch the Inspector, and I will personally stand you beer and oysters in any public house you care to name.

But seriously, it’s so incredibly touching that little starved Doyle (who, in this same episode, says that he accepts food as payment for his work) reacts to Bell being in danger by offering to make up for the Random Policeman’s missed dinner.

OYSTERS!! I’LL GIVE YOU OYSTERS!! In ANY public house you care to name! (even if it's the most expensive public house ever that will me broke!) Just save my precious Doctor!

*screams into the void*

- Bell to Doyle, literally five minutes after conducting an autopsy on a dude they’ve extensively psychoanalyzed and concluded - from his battle scars - that he was a man of great courage.

Bell PATTED DOYLE’S CHEEK

Doyle (after nearly being strangled): I’m glad to see you!! :’)

Bell: *buys Doyle the best gift in the universe* ah, I was just walking down the street and accidentally noticed this in one of the shop windows,,,, thought i might buy it

Bell: come on, Doyle, we have a case. your birthday can wait. *during the case, proceeds to praise Doyle's superb abilities to the sun and back* *gives Doyle all the credit for solving the case*
