All the other modules have calculators right? I mean I know they’ve changed a load of syllabi what possible use could there be to make you do that shit on paper you’re not really learning much
yeah it’s the only non-calc module, but this.... isn’t usual for C1. a lot of nasty fractions flying around when normally whole numbers are used (there was one question to do with finding the area of a quadrilateral which you could do by subtracting one triangle from another, or splitting it into two triangles and a rectangle, or trapezia... or, as some people did, splitting it into just two triangles, and then dealing with the resulting surds.)
i found that it all made sense, but it was surprisingly engaging for c1. a lot of the questions required kinda leaps of logic - so like for one, to prove an inequality when given the equations of two lines that do not cross, you need to set them equal, move everything to one side, and then show that the discriminant is less than zero, which happens to be the inequality you’re proving. i mean at the time it made sense to me but judging by twitter it was not as obvious to a lot of peeps
today i found out that 44 squared is 1936
People were actually crying after that exam. ACTUALLY. LITERALLY. CRYING.
For anyone who took Edexcel C1 yesterday
