“This is for my kids, they can’t be around for the Day of Unity. Put them is a castle bunker, get them on an airship, I don’t care! Just-just keep them safe”
There’s a lot about the Raine and Eda scene thats gets me very emotional, but its this reaction from Raine during this moments that just really kills me. Because the whole interaction up until this point Raine is avoiding looking at Eda, they keep turning away, or looking down in guilt or closing their eyes as they push Eda away and try and distance themselves from her.
They feel guilty about pushing her away, but they justify it as keeping Eda safe, but then Eda makes this desperate plea for Raine to protect her kids because she cant. and Raine finally looks at Eda, really looks at her and realizes that they messed up. Raine was the one before to stop Eda from being reckless because she had kids who needed her, Raine CARES bout Edas family, and by keeping Eda in the dark theyve put her and her family in danger, or at the very least made Eda feel helpess to protect her family.
I dont even know if im making any sense, but these two frames just fucking kill me Raine loves Eda so fucking much and they cant keep it off their face here and it hurts me.
