Things about me (Blog Entry #2)
Characteristics I can think of that I have at the moment divided into demand, resources, and force:
Demand - Asian, Brown skinned, Filipino, Male, Black haired, Tall Resources - College education, Dorming at the University Dorm in Ateneo Force - Procrastination, Infatuation, Peer pressure,Ā
Obviously, these characteristics affect how others treat me in ways like assuming that I play basketball because Iām tall (I actually do play basketball though). Other people might assume Iām good at math just because Iām Asian (what a stereotype haha) and because Iām in an honors course.
I think that within the next years of college, my susceptibility to peer pressure will be a hindrance because they sometimes prevent me from being productive. An example would be how I play video games whenever my roommate or my other dorm friends go play video games, as well as the occasional invites from friends to go drinking or partying.
On the other hand, peer pressure could also be beneficial because being in an honors course, Iām surrounded by people who do well in academics, which motivates me to study harder or to prioritize academics better. Dorming inside the college campus is also a really big help for me because I met a lot of people in the dorm, which makes me feel as if I had a second family. I think Iād generally feel more lonely if I lived in a condo.
