The wind of change
Tra i nostri amichetti, Tommasino e Marchetto son quelli che più ci danno dentro con la barchetta a vela. Qualche anno fa hanno comprato una deriva da gara e l'han piazzata in un laghetto minuscolo vicino a casa. Nei week end abbandonano mogli e figli per andar a cercare vento, e non e' cosa facile perché Eolo di solito da quelle parti non si vede. Loro son però felici, immersi nella natura e nel silenzio a soffiare sulle vele per far andare avanti la barca. Abbiamo pensato a loro quando abbiamo visto questa linea di abbigliamento tecnico della spagnola Twothirds. I capi son pensati da gente che fa sport e che ama la natura (i capi son fatte in poliestere riciclato o cotoni organici). Il nome dell’azienda è poi tutto un programma: si riferisce infatti al fatto che due terzi del globo è coperto d’acqua, e per non dimenticarselo devolvono il 10% dei profitti ad Oceana società no-profit per la salvaguardia dell’ecosistema marino.... Il vento green soffia forte, ragazzi copritevi bene!
Among our friends, Tommasino and Marchetto are the ones that are really into sailing. A few years ago they bought a race drift boat and they placed it in a tiny lake close to home. At the weekends, they desert their wives and children to go and look for some wind, and it's not an easy task because Aeolus usually can't be seen around there. They are happy though, they enjoy being surrounded by nature, in complete silence, while they blow on the sails to make the boat go forward. We thought of them when we saw this clothing line, designed by the spanish company Twothirds. The garments are conceived by people who do sports and who love nature (the garments are made of recycled polyester or organic cotton). The company's name says it all, really: it refers to the fact that two thirds of the globe is covered with water, and to make sure we don't forget about that, the company donates 10% of its profits to the non-profit Oceana organization, that deals with the protection of the marine ecosystem....
