A month of waste reduction…..tougher than I thought!

So, just over a month ago we decided to try and be more eco friendly and try and reduce waste. I thought this would be pretty easy, and in a way it was, however in another way it’s been tough and we have lapsed quite a bit!

Compost 

We have a compost bin in our garden, left by the previous tenants, so we decided to use it. We diligently put all our compostable waste into a bucket and…….well, moat…

I recently did a post about how cool I thought the idea of eco bricks was, so decided to start making them myself with a view to use them to build a summer house in the future.

It’s absolutely crazy how much waste my household produces. We try and reuse what we can, recycle where possible, compost and try to buy products with as little or no packaging as possible, but still the rubbish bin gets…

Today I heard of something new (new to me anyway!). Eco bricks! A simple yet very cool way of using your rubbish instead of throwing it into the landfill.

From what I understand, eco bricks are basically plastic bottles stuffed with rubbish (non organic so plastic that can’t be recycled) until they are full and hard as a brick. You then use them to build anything you like! Such a simple idea but…
