@Eclipsedmemento: Jumping at a Turnabout (Event)
âDamnit, damnit, damniiiiit!!!â Phoenix cursed as he climbed the stairs of a building with unfathomable speed. He was on his way to deliver a couple Fragments that he had collected the past few days, which meant that he had a lot of them with him. Small, big, you name it, all of them safe on his Court Record.
Or at least, thatâs what he believed. You see, it seems like the Fragments attract the virus and its infectees by its mere presence, not simply by vision. The more Fragments are in a single location, the stronger that attraction is. And when you have as many as Phoenix has on his possession right now, well...
âAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!â He kept screaming, as one of the citizens tried to shoot him. They missed, but just by a few centimeters. Of course, as a Servant, there was no reason for Phoenix to fear a bullet, but heâs not exactly being rational right now. Were he, heâd simply break a segment of the stairs with his strength to stop the infecteesâ advance.
But he has no such luck. Even more because, as you may have guessed by now, eventually buildings end. Phoenix is now standing in the middle of a rooftop, all while the screams of his pursuers grow louder and louder. His heart is pumping like a thunderstorm. His sweat feels like him melting. Thereâre no alternatives left to flee. Will he have to fight?
(Wait... Why am I thinking about this from a human perspective? Arenât I a Servant? Canât I pull fantastical superhuman feats or whatever? Letâs see, what would an action hero do at a scenario like this...?) This might not be Hollywood, but Phoenix feels like his current body might actually allow him to pull one of those logic defying feats heâs always admired when younger.
In this case, such a feat would be... jumping towards the next building. Just the sheer concept of that sounds like a bad idea. His human mind tells him to try something else, maybe hide or anything else that wouldnât go against his intuitive survial instinct. His Servant spirit tells him that he can do it, he can cross to that other building using his legs only.
In the end, Phoenix chooses to listen to the latter. The group finishes its climbing and is ready to kill the attorney. Itâs now or never. Taking a deep breath, Phoenix gives one step behind, then begins his run. He goes, goes, goes and jumps!!!
Itâs sure an impressive view. Never in his life did he ever imagine to be able of making such a huge leap, the city below him and his captors right behind. Itâs almost as if heâs flying. Itâs really cool. Terrifying, gives him the urge to throw up, but cool.
And would you look at that, as the impulse starts to die down, he can actually see himself landing on his target! Hurray! (Huh? Hang on, whoâs that guy over there- crap, Iâll fall over them!!) Itâs too late for Phoenix to change his trajectory, so thereâs only one way he can try avoid gravely hurting the other:
âOOOOOOUUUUUUUTTTTTTT!!!!!!!â
