So whether Riou’s literal pacifistic adherence to “no death ever” is because he killed someone or almost killed someone is anyone’s guess.  And I’m not saying one way or the other.

Jackjaw leaned in to nuzzle Echo. It was bittersweet, but it was for the best. This sacrifice would mean Echo’s freedom, even if it meant she would loose her own, possibly her life along with it. When she finished her final gesture of affection she nudged her. “Go. Get outta here. We meet again.”

(This makes me very, very sad. Really.)

     "Femme, Posie would eat me for lunch if I so much as looked at ya’ funny, I think you’re good. Hi, I’m Hal.“ 

See? Look how sedate and brooding they have made me! Skulking and pained about whether or not I would admit my feelings. Nonsense. I would tell her so and then proceed to glamour her senseless~

She probably shouldn't have been doing it so frequently, but Jackjaw couldn't help but want to transport herself back into the past. Back to a time before her home pack was disbanded. She wanted to experience the happy memories though. And those came in the form of dancing. With the music of her people singing and playing like ghosts in her helm she dancing along. If she shuttered her optics it was almost as if she was right there again. Billowing towers of fire rising into the night, the glowing rings of a nearby planet shining down on them, the shadows of others dancing flickering in the corners of her vision... It was entrancing. And the wyvern was so absorbed in such memories that she didn't even detect Echo's scent.
