Echinoid (sea urchin) fossils, (sometimes called shepherds’ crowns, fairy loaves, thunderstones, snake’s eggs, etc.) set into St Peter's Church in Linkenholt, in the North and South windows respectively.
"These echinoids were apparently recycled into the fabric of this small Victorian church from its thirteenth century predecessor, thus preserving a legacy of the pagan belief that they had the power to ward off the Devil." Source
The new wave of echinodem. Some in ovale, brown with little remicent of their distant shell pattern. Found great ones in good condition.
The two orange broken parts in orange flint.
Some have clear pattern, others are chunky.
And the other three in gray, with outstanding intact one in darker gray.
All are good example to shown of the varity to finding and for id.
Before today, I’ve only seen sea urchins in shades of green. Lately, in the shore, I’ve discovered them in pink and other colours. We were lucky enough to find this in orange intact Don’t you feel like the sea life is somewhat very artistic? https://chezagnes.blogspot.com/search/label/summer #chezagnesinMarbella #chezagnessummer #summer #photography #beachlife #vacation #vacaciones #travelgram #portrait #quebienseestaveraneando #verano #veraneando #marbella #lamejorvenganza #sealife #echinoidea #echinoids #echinoid #seaurchin #seafauna #faunamarina #erizodemar (en Playa Real De Zaragoza, Marbella) https://www.instagram.com/p/CSyr3SSDFzZ/?utm_medium=tumblr

Some patterns of the mantle of inner faded shells of echinodea. Echinocorys and others.
Going back in time some days.
On May 2 , I stumpled across this Echinocorys, flint fossils core, an medium size, in dark flint with its rock matrix including. An really incredible find, the shells pattern is still visible, on the half surface with no deep cracks.
The rock matrix in white and gray under it is firm intact.
I’m really happy to have found it.
Found two echinoids in different chert colors & this intact full brachiopode. Grayish chert rock.
