     “Oh, I intend to... In my Valedictorian speech. It’s the twenty-first century. How are there still people who think girls can’t do math?”

   standing is, indeed, a little bit of a chore, but sam manages to hoist himself   up. his head spins, his face scrunches, and he stumbles slightly as he takes   a single step. memory escapes him, the events leading up to this moment   fuzzy, just out of reach. tranked? that definitely didn’t sound pleasant ( though   that was definitely par for the course, these days. )   it’s a long, steady groan that rumbles in his chest. he can walk, certainly, but   there’s a great deal of effort involved. walk where, though? where were they?   was there anywhere safe nearby?                                 “ y – yeah. I can walk. what                                   happened? where are we? ”   maybe he’s not quite alright. his head seems to be simultaneously swimming   and POUNDING and he’s in danger of toppling over at any second. no, not   alright by a long shot. but he can walk, and sam just needs to get somewhere    he can recover.
