ACCEPTING ➤ SEVEN SINDAY MEME

“Definitely not healthy.” He shakes his head, eyeing the drink in her hands with a skeptical look.  “That stuff is probably loaded with sugar and who knows what else.”

“That stuff usually doesn’t kill you right away,” He points out, folding his arms across his chest.  “Not if you drink it in small doses, either.  But drink a little bit of that everyday and you might be looking at some health problems later down the line.”

NOT ACCEPTING ➤ ACTS OF AFFECTION

He greets her with a smile when she comes into the room. He assumes she’s going for a glass of water before returning to bed. His expression morphs briefly into surprise when her trajectory doesn’t shift. She lands squarely in his lap, fleece on fleece as their pajama pants meet. On instinct, he drops whatever’s in his hands and wraps his arms around her lower back to keep her from slipping off on accident. Just as he’s about ask what’s the matter, she takes both of his cheeks in sweater-covered hands and tilts his chin up to an unmistakable angle. The question goes unasked because the answer is in her eyes. She gets to feel his face flush with heat as he gives a soft nod of consent.

Their lips meet quietly once. Based on the tension in her thighs, he can tell it’s not enough. He offers a second. She takes a third, then a fourth, and then she’s holding onto him with intensity as their tongues twine. He accepts the kiss as she gives it, thumbing along the ridge of her spine to silently reassure her that he wants to be there. He doesn’t know where this swell of physical need came from but he’ll indulge it for as long as she needs.

…eventually, the kiss ends, but she stays in his lap. He picks up his joycons from where he’d set them on the table and continues playing his game. He listens as her breathing deepens, as a small wet patch develops on his shoulder while she drools in her sleep. They haven’t really given a name to whatever this is; the occasional kiss, the odd night spent in each other’s arms.
