I've been thinking lately that I want to participate in more Citizen Science projects. I've used ebird for awhile, but it's a goal of mine this summer to use it more consistently/submit more detailed reports.
I was wondering though–does anyone have recommendations for other Citizen Science projects to participate in?? Ideally I'd be interested in one's related to animals/conservation, but any that yall recommend would be greatly appreciated!! I'd love to find new projects!!!

I'm crying why is one photo 1 star and the other is 5 stars when they're practically the same photo 😭
when I was a kid I was obsessed with the gba Pokemon games and I'd spend hours just going through the pokedex looking to see which pokemon lived where. this pokemon lives in a cave, this one's habitat is unknown. it really did something to me man, really fascinated me so much.
now I'm an adult, I get that same feeling from birdwatching. I'm hardly the first to make this comparison but ebird and merlin are like the pokedex, man. I can just open it up and look through all the target species in my area. A singular asian emerald dove was sighted in my city 7 days ago, in a forest i visited once in 2023. I'm going to plan the next week around maybe hopefully seeing this dove.
I don't even take pictures i just like seeing them. it's better than drugs man.
