Frank Burns, disassociating with hantavirus: "My mother used to smack me when I got sick. She used to smack me when I got well."
Geeze, man, the road from midwest puritanism to adult finkery for Frank was pretty much inevitable.
Season 4 ep 2 - this ep is medically accurate for what they called Korean hemmoragic fever in the late-70s. By the time there was an outbreak in the 90s, and race-based panic had spread, it was called hantavirus in the news (people thought "hanta" had something to do with Mexico, bc, racism) and the disease had grown into a much bigger boogieman.
So. Now everyone in mashblr knows: hantavirus is serious and you must get treatment, but it's not a reason to panic. Frank had it and he survived, and he's a weak little baby-man.
