Backstory:

- Grew up in Northumberland with its small family - youngest of two siblings, often babied as a result - Along with being the youngest, it was also born blind, meaning that everyone treated it with kid gloves even as it grew up - While Lochlan was rather content with this at first, every child does eventually get tired of this and it did too, sneaking off into well-worn places just to sit and be alone for a while - Despite the drawbacks of being blind, it was a very sociable child, eager to talk to people and enjoyed being involved when possible - Often ended up spending more time with animals than people however, because animals didn't just manhandle it or move it around without asking it - Didn't really have a good relationship with its mother, who was often the one that pushed it in different ways based on how she viewed its blindness as a curse or a weakness, which led to more tension in the home the older it became - Excelled in school, to the point where it managed to gain a scholarship to Cambridge (the Stormzy Scholarship, which is certainly a name for a scholarship) and took a degree in History - While there, it met an individual named Myla Strauss, whose family is dedicated to researching The Fears — she, for some reason or other, decided to tell it all about The Fears and allowed it to become enveloped in her own research while she was forced to attend university 'for tradition' - It became wrapped up in The Eye, impossibly caught up in the information and knowledge it was learning, all while becoming more and more terrified by what it was learning, and soon The Eye was offering more. Offering a chance of sight. - It was never one to speak of its lack of sight as anything bad (everyone did that enough), but such an opportunity for sight — far more than sight — was something it could not pass up. - It started with eye tattoos — all sorts, all in different styles, all over its body — the beginning of an offering in return for slight spatters of seeing things when The Eye wanted to tease it a little. Changing personality, more focused on consuming knowledge than helping those that Myla was researching into. - It all culminated in a bloodsoaked bedroom floor, a knife sliced along the eye tattoos as though 'opening them' and a knife jammed into one of its eyes, death then rebirth in the grip of The Eye. The ability to see through eyes (tattoos, the damaged one, any eyes at all) - Ended up in the Magnus Institute with Myla, collected one singular human (Emrys Beria, from Wales) to join their trio

Family:

Mother: Khadra Collings (deceased) - Caring but rather overbearing - Intensely worried for her children - Outwardly affectionate - Could cross boundaries accidentally - Often dealt with cultural barriers, wanted to avoid that for her children - Sought out community through the church - Heavily religious, passed it onto her children - Disappeared when Lochlan was sixteen (taken by The Lonely) - Lochlan often regrets not being able to talk to her about their tension

Father: George Collings - Cannot display affection very well - Does care a lot for his children and family, but didn't grow up with an affectionate family - Maintains an almost professional distance, much to everyone's dismay - Did try and do the parental act sometimes - Often shows love through meaningful gifts - After Khadra died, he tried to reach out to his children more - Is a very good listener - Very proud of what his children have become, doesn't know how to say that - Despite not being able to them about it, definitely brags about his children to his co-workers
