Hoodoos
The coastal winds blew me this way with intentions I thought I knew.
But the winds had their own plans...
New winds, not a breeze like the ones I have become accustomed to, swept me and my good intentions away.
They shook me with violent howls and whipped me around, eroding away the very essence of my being till I looked nothing like myself anymore.
Unrecognizable.
And like waves that beat against a rock, at some point I felt myself feeling no greater than a grain of sand.
I had lost so much of myself along the way that I began to miss the homeward winds and seek to return
But then..... the winds changed
Like a sail that’s been still and finally gets a gust of wind, sending a ripple through the entirety of the ship and the sea.
The vessel of myself turned around, away from the waters that I knew, away from the ones I became so used to....
Straight into uncharted waters.
The wind from the east, and in that wind it carried you.
So unexpected, so unplanned but you changed my course.
And now....
I’ve decided to let you steer, be my anchor to this place, the place where I thought I had become nothing
But you showed me where the parts of me that I thought had been carried away went to and you showed me that even the things that have been eroded away can still be beautiful.
That sometimes they are the ones we stand in awe at the most.
We never talk about how weak it was to be eroded away but about how amazing it is that it’s still standing and how it’s formed into the beauty and wonder to be marvelled at.
The winds have shaped me but you are the anchor that keeps me here, keeps me planted and allows myself to be shaped.
So as much as I miss the western coastal winds, with the fresh smell of cedar and the sea intermingling perfectly and giving me the sense of familiarity, the homey feeling and comfort I so desperately seek, that we all so desperately seek.
I can now feel at home.
I yearn for this place now because it’s where you’ll be when I return.
You are my home, you are my comfort.
You are my anchor.
And as the westernly wind blew me here with a mind and intentions of it’s own, it is but the easternly one, the one that carried you here, that keeps me solidly and firmly in this place to be the naturally wind-shaped, life-shaped, wonder I am meant to be.

Eastern Wind || Willard & Amelia
It’d been a long time since Willard had decided to go home to Valm. Even longer since he’d stepped foot in a Ylissean shipyard. The last time the former had happened was all that time ago when he’d lost everything and come to this continent to try to exact his revenge. And yet here he was again, standing before a vessel to take him to his home continent.
Standing in line for his ticket, a familiar cloaked figure with raven hair crossed his vision. “Really?” he thought. The last time he had seen Amelia was when they had crossed paths with the man who sold out Fort Steiger. It wasn’t a pretty parting to be sure. Willard wasn’t one to leave things unfinished, however. Giving a word to some friendly people he had been chatting with in line to save his spot, he dropped his bags and jogged towards the woman.
“Oi! Amelia!”
Thankful to the wind that brought you
