She’d been conquering after being exiled and eventually the Grand Celestial saw her as a threat and sent Pluto to take her down. But he also mentioned this “prophecy” surrounding Pluto that he was destined to kill Saturn, and his blood being in her shackles implies that this prophecy existed since the day of her banishment, which contradicts the Grand Celestial’s entire reasoning for wanting her dead.

We know his whole shtick is lies and keeping secrets, and not caring for his kids in the slightest. Which also kinda contradicts the reasoning for Saturn’s banishment in the first place; being what happened to Juni. At least that’s the consensus. But that can’t be the real reason, because the Grand Celestial doesn’t care for their safety. And the reason also can’t be simply because Saturn failed a mission, can it? Both Neptune and Venus are seen as full-on traitors at this point and no one’s been sent after them.

The Grand Celestial must have a personal vendetta against Saturn, then. Since she was revered as one of the most powerful of her siblings (maybe the most powerful, I don’t remember), this personal vendetta could have been him thinking she was too powerful for his liking and felt she could usurp him if she wanted to. So he could have sent her and Juni on that mission knowing something would go horribly wrong, or maybe even secretly sabotaged it himself just to use it as an excuse to make her a moonfallen, and then use the moonfallen title as an excuse to have her killed.

I’m not entirely confident in the whole sabotage theory but imagine if that was the reason tho- everybody would be so damn pissed; I feel like even Pluto would be.
