Likewise, I never imagined that home might be something I would miss.” ❤ We believe that between many different positive things that travelig gives to a person, one is that it really sheds a new light on your home. ☺️ Seeing new places, capturing the beauty of the world, it’s wondeful, but after some time you realize that you’re missing something and that is feeling of being where you belong, being an insider, knowing places and people. ✌🏻 After almost a year spent abroad, enjoying every bit of the places we’ve seen and admiring different countries, we took the same approach towards our country, Lithuania, and we loved the nature and the destinations as much as we loved those in Germany or Portugal. 📸🇱🇹 The place one of us (P.) has went to together with his mom before going back to Belgium was the Nemunas Loops Regional Park. 😍 The funny part was that it wasn’t the first time P. visited this place, but it was the first time he managed to see it through the eyes of a tourist! We found this interesting #fact that the first patent for the cable car was given on this day nearly 150 years ago when one talented American found a way to stop horses from falling while lifting people up the hills in San Fransisco. 😳🐴 From then 17th of January is the International Cable Car day. 💡🚠 And after founding this out we thought that this barely known celebration is the perfect opportunity to share one more awesome fact about our hometown Kaunas (Lithuania). 😄✌🏻As we mentioned before, during interwar period Kaunas was one of the most progressive cities in Europe, and there are a lot of inovations still perfectly performing from those days. 🎛👏🏻Two of them are Kaunas cable cars - funiculars! They are the only two in the country, and almost the first ones to be built in Europe in 1930s. 🤘🏻💥 We have to admit that we are still excited like kids when we have a chance to take #funicular down or up the hill that we live on. ☺👏🏻They’re one of those things that managed to preserve the interwar classiness to its fullest! 🎩
