between apple’s dedication to following her destiny and raven’s dedication to forging her own path, this relationship is one that is very unlikely to happen and very unusual when you all finally settle into it

apple is big into pet names and terms of endearment, and almost never calls you or raven by your names. baby, honey, cutie, sweetie, darling, love, and so on and so on — the list is endless and grows longer with every passing day

raven, meanwhile, is a touch more conservative than your darling little princess and usually just calls you and apple by your names — though she’s not completely opposed to occasionally calling you both something like ‘babe’ (not sharing apple’s flair for the dramatic, theatric, or cutesy)

apple’s main love language is physical touch. if she’s not smothering your face in kisses then she’s interlocking her arm with raven’s and snuggling into her side like a clingy cat. if she’s not holding raven’s hand under the table when you’re all out on a date, then she’s dragging you around with her as she shops in town (refusing to let go of your hand for a single moment). and if she’s not scratching at your scalp and helping you relax after a long day of studying and exams then she’s perched behind raven styling her hair with an unmatched focus (tongue stuck out and everything) — in other words, she’s all over you both all of the time, both in public and in private

raven’s main love language is acts of service. she makes a second set of notes for the classes you share with her when she knows you’ve been too distracted or busy to make your own. she memorises apple’s drink order and makes sure to pick one up for her whenever she drops into town. she uses small spells to warm or cool the room you’re staying in when she knows you’re struggling to sleep because of sickness or the weather. and she never hesitates to lend apple a hand when she’s planning out a get together with her friends — making sure that you both don’t just hear her love for you, but see and feel it too

they’re both pretty big on words of affirmation and quality time too, both of which you reap the rewards of as their shared lover — and that you’re sure to reciprocate, obviously

apple is more than happy to use her family’s wealth to spoil you and raven absolutely rotten — making sure you both have the newest, best quality, and most stylish things that money can buy

maddie was the first one to learn about your relationship from raven’s side, but she knew about her crushes on you both long before anything became official — and she’s very very supportive of you both (in her own mad way, naturally)

apple’s friends took a bit longer to adjust to your destiny-defying triad — aside from ashlynn who is in a similar relationship herself and was supportive of her from the get-to — but nowadays they’re all pretty supportive of your triad

apple’s favourite places to kiss you are your cheeks and neck — and her favourite places to kiss raven are her shoulders and the tip of her nose

raven’s favourite place to kiss you is your lips, and her favourite place to kiss apple is her hands (especially her knuckles and fingertips)

their mothers really didn’t take your triad well — snow especially (the evil queen was more amused than anything, really) — but thankfully that doesn’t really affect you all that much… of course apple was a bit upset at first but she’s since gotten over it as she doesn’t want to lose either of you

despite her… history… of trying to shake up the hierarchy of her homeworld in order to put herself at the very top — first as student council president / vice-principle / principle of wonderland high, and then as the queen (had her plans not been tragically thwarted) — you’ll find that courtly settles very comfortably into your relationship and seems to be perfectly content with being your equal, your partner, for the rest of your days. of course she’s still terribly theatrical about the whole thing, but she never even hints at stepping out of your relationship to seek ‘grander’ opportunities or more ‘influential’ partners — because despite all of her lofty goals and dubiously moral methods of attaining them in the past, she does love you and she does want to be with you. and courtly is the type of person who, when she finally gets what she wants, holds on tightly and never lets go (in other words, she’s in this for the long haul so good luck!)

she does get better about coping with this as she gets older and becomes more accepting of her destiny as a joker card, but courtly has an immense jealous streak and especially in the early days of your relationship had quite the habit of lashing out at anyone who she perceived to be taking what was rightfully hers — that being your time, your affection, and your attention. though, despite how bad her temper can get during these moments she pretty much never takes it out on you… unless you count her overselling her upset to push you to dote on her, but that’s neither here nor there

she will only ever call you by your name if she’s upset or angry with you, otherwise she tends to cycle through a series of semi-old-fashioned terms of endearment — drawing the syllables of them out as needed to get you to pay attention to her or do whatever else she wants you to do in the moment. think along the lines of ‘my love’, ‘(my) darling’, ‘sweetheart’, and the like

being her partner does not make you exempt from falling victim to her more lighthearted jokes and pranks — the only real difference is that she makes a conceited effort to not cross any lines or make you truly upset or uncomfortable. after all, what fun is a joke if both people aren’t laughing at it?

believe it or not, but courtly can be a gentlewoman when the time calls for it and as her lover you get to reap the rewards of this lesser-seen side of her more than anyone else in wonderland or ever after — e.g. her pulling out your chair for you, offering to carry your bags whenever you go shopping, greeting you with a kiss to the backs of your hands, and so on

briar is a partner who loves to keep things in your relationship as fun and enjoyable as possible for the both of you (got to make the most of the time she has before her century-long slumber, after all) — this usually translates to spontaneous dates, frequent sleepovers (wherein, naturally, neither of you actually get much sleep for all the fun you’re having), surprise drop-ins when you least expect them, lots of pda and just lots of physical affection in general, and the two of you just being a very playful and adventurous couple that’s the envy of everyone else around you

if she could, briar would happily spend her every waking (and even sleeping) moment by your side, but as that isn’t really possible due to your different schedules and separate housing she instead settles for making the most out of the time you do get to spend with her — which means you ought to expect every day out, lunch date, evening hangout, and sleepover to be spent with your wonderful girlfriend either cuddled up against your side or just outright perched on your lap (really it depends on your company)

she struggles a lot with reconciling her love for you with her destiny (the 100 years of sleep and the supposed love of her life that will save her from it), particularly the idea that one day she’ll close her eyes and then she’ll never see you again, and worse yet she’ll be expected to be happy about it and live the rest of her life with someone else long after you’re gone — she has a lot of nightmares about this scenario, and you’ve woken up to her sobbing and clinging desperately to your nightclothes many many times after you’ve shared a bed

(she’s never actually told anyone about these fears, she’s a royal after all and is expected to accept her destiny with grace and open arms, but you manage to get the gist of it from her body language and the sparse few words you can make out amongst her sobs and whimpers)

your contact name in her phone is 100% something super cute and sappy, think along the lines of ‘my happily ever after’ followed by one or two heart emojis — she really, really, hopes that you’re the one that will be able to wake her up and her ‘hundred years’ will just be like ‘a hundred days’ instead… she really doesn’t want to lose you

being with briar all but necessitates that you get accustomed to her sleeping curse, and more specifically that you get better at helping her work around the limitations she faces because of it — after all, with an attentive partner by her side to help her out she’s much more able to do the fun and adventurous things she wants to without anyone trying to limit or stop her because of that inherited curse

she loves going shopping and will take any and every opportunity she gets to spoil and pamper you (gotta make a good impression so you don’t forget her when she finally goes into her hundred year slumber) — needless to say you’re not left wanting for anything so long as she can help it, whether that means making sure you have the latest fashion collection pressed and ready in your wardrobe the same day it releases, or going out of her way to order something you’re interested in from one of the far away lands she wants to see one day, just say the word and briar will have it in hand as soon as royally possible

although she does have a habit of being, for lack of a better word, catty with others and enjoys causing mischief for those around her to deal with, she’s actually incredibly considerate of you as her partner — being mindful of your mood and mental state and always being careful to keep her pranks to times where you’re in a space to find them amusing rather than upsetting (she’s still very playful with you, of course, but she’s well aware of where the line is with you and makes sure to never cross it as long as she can help it)

she still definitely enjoys her alone time and her cat naps up in the trees of the enchanted forest, but she also comes to appreciate having alone time with you as well — in particular she comes to love sharing her hobbies with you: setting up pranks with you, curling up on your lap or in your arms and sleeping together in the forest, doing some knitting whilst you study, and so on

if ever you’ve had a bad day and want nothing more than to be left alone and allowed to sulk in your room in peace, she’ll make good use of her invisibility to pay you a visit and leave you a small gift to lift your mood before quickly leaving — you usually won’t realise that kitty’s even been there until you see her present, but by then she’s usually retreated back to the forest to have a quick nap, or headed into the main school building to mess with someone

if you’re not from wonderland she’s more than happy to teach you riddlish and eventually it will become the main way the two of you communicate amongst yourself — she loves it because it gives you the privacy to have whatever conversations you want without anyone else intruding upon it (unless, say, her best friend fur-ever is close by), and because none of your classmates are fluent in riddlish and she loves to keep people guessing

(riddlish is also the primary way that she’ll flirt with you, especially earlier on in your relationship because she loved seeing your initial confusion and, even better, the mixed reaction of being flustered and proud when you finally deciphered what she was actually saying to you)

though crystal isn’t the biggest fan of over the top gushy (or, as she would say, ‘slushy’) stuff in relationships, she still does what she can to make sure you know just how much she loves you and just how much she genuinely appreciates your company — this is mainly done through her making sure that each and every date you two go on is as fun and exciting as it possibly can be

naturally her preference leans strongly towards winter themed activities (e.g. ice skating, hockey, snowball fights, and so on), but she’s not completely opposed to switching things up and going out of her comfort zone to do the things that you enjoy — so if you’re more of a ‘beach ball’ person than a ‘snow ball’ person then she’s happy to improvise and accommodate you (though she’s still not gonna go easy on you during play — lover or not, she’s still got a bit of a competitive streak)

if you’re looking for a calmer sort of date, however, then she’s also happy to take you out at night to look up at the endless starry sky and the gorgeous northern lights — combine that stunning view with crystal’s passionate chatter about meteorology and the specific phenomena you’re witnessing and you’re pretty much set for a quiet night out with your darling girlfriend

assuming you’re not a native of the top of the world where she’s from, crystal makes sure that each visit you take up the mountain is better than the last — that means better and more personal housing as she gets to know you better, planned activities that are even more fun and educational than those you participated in during your last visit, a larger array of meals that consist of an equal mixture of local dishes and the meals you grew up eating, and (of course), a new wardrobe that’s both perfectly suited to your style preferences and as optimised for the local weather as possible

she doesn’t really use any pet names for you and just calls you your first name for the most part, and if you insist on calling her something other than her name then she’d definitely prefer something that sounds a bit more modern or something related to her and her future role (e.g. ‘babe’ works perfectly fine for her, but ‘my queen’ or ‘my winter queen’ when used sparingly and jokingly enough is also going to get a positive reaction from her)

crystal isn’t really someone who is super big on physical affection in her relationship with you, and especially not if it comes in the form of over the top pda — a peck on the lips/cheek is fine in any setting, hand holding when you’re walking about is chill, but cuddling is only for when you’re in private and anything more than that will have her wincing and half-heartedly complaining about you being too ‘slushy’ with her

The sentences that slipped from her lips oh so casually meant a lot more than it might seem, and you knew that. Kitty wasn’t great with addressing her feelings, whether that be to other people or herself.

The few times that she was feeling sentimental she refused to be upfront about it, instead dropping sly offhand comments that were left up to you to interpret. This time around, it was her using the excuse of being cold as a way to (not so) subtly get closer to you, without having to say it outright.

“Really? I didn’t notice, I had the heater on all night.” You chuckle softly when you see Kitty’s frown, a clear sign that she knew you were on to her and wasn’t very happy about it.

“Well, goody for you,” she grumbled while rolling her eyes.

There was no way she was going to say her feelings out loud- not yet, anyway. If you wanted to move forward in this little flirtatious dance of yours, you’d have to be the one to make the first move.

You scootched over on the bed, making a spot for Kitty to lay down. “Alright then, come here.” You patted the spot beside you, gesturing for her to get closer.

“Oh, yeah? And why should I?” She taunted playfully.

“Well, I just thought you’d like to get warm, since you were just complaining out it being cold outside. But if you’d rather freeze…”

She let out an obnoxiously loud sigh. “Okay, whatever.”

With a large and cheeky grin, she disappeared from the chair she was on and reappeared next to you in a flash. Kitty pattycaked the blankets a few times before curling up and laying down next to you, almost like a normal cat would.

You smiled softly to yourself, more so when you hear faint purring sounds coming from her. “Goodnight, Kitty. Hope you’re able to get warm this way.”

With that, you pulled the covers up to your chin and sighed comfortably before drifting off to sleep yourself.
