well unmm this is kind of shitty tbh.... but i’ve had it laying in my drafts for so long that i just wanted to post it. anyways, i’m so scared for the ranking announcement tomorrow and i’m just hoping 2won passes. this is based upon the thought of wonjun being in the top 20, when the family members of the trainees get called in for the last episode. actually requested (!!! finally some wonjun love from someone other than myself), 4 with e entertainments lee wonjun. gender neutral, fluff, no warnings, past tense, second person. hope you have a great day!!

you knew how hard it was for wonjun to be on produce x 101. he was very young, and had for all the years you’d known him been super hardworking. you knew that he would stay up all night, perfecting his every dance move and doing his raps until his voice got so hoarse he almost couldn’t speak. he wanted this so much, and you knew how much it broke him to not get the perfect outcome from the voting results. in the few phone calls you had gotten though the months, you could tell only by the tone of his voice how tired he was and how much he had been practicing. you would tell him that it’s okay to take a break every once in a while, and that it’s more important to stay healthy than overwork himself; but he would only answer that it would be worth it in the end. everything will be okay once it’s time for the debut.

you certainly hoped he was right, but still felt the need to talk to him and tell him how you felt, how you wanted him to calm down a bit. but the trainees weren’t given their phones that often, so you just had to wait. and wait.

one day, you got a call. not from wonjun, but from the mnet staff themselves. you knew that the final episode was nearing, and the staff told you that they had been wanting to invite the closest family to some of the trainees, and were calling you in that matter.

you got super excited. finally, after so many months, you were going to meet wonjun again! but as you stood outside the door of a practice room, waiting for a signal from the straff that you could go inside, your excitement turned into fear. what if he’s forgotten about me? what if he wants someone else now that he’s a big star? maybe they have their phones with them at all times but he’s just been ignoring my texts?

but when a producer next to you gave you a small nod, you knew there was no return. you pushed down the handle and opened the door slowly. looking around the room, you greeted all the trainees you had only seen before in the television with a bow and a quick “hello”, smiling brightly. and after wandering for a while, your eyes finally landed on wonjun’s pretty face. you smiled extra big, which wasn’t really matching his face of pure surprise. you began to walk over towards him and it looked like he wasn’t believing his eyes.

“y-y/n?!” he stuttered, and you pulled him in for a hug as soon as you were close enough. you began to hear sniffling next to your ear as he hugged you back tightly. “i missed you so much,” he mumbled and you two pulled apart, but stayed close enough to still be in each other’s arms. you saw how his eyes were very watery, a single tear rolling down one of his cheeks.

“hey, don’t cry!,” you said, letting out a weak laugh and smiling at him. he smiled softly at you too, wiping away the tear with the back of his hand.

“i just... i missed you so much.” now the tears were threatening to spill from your eyes too.

“i missed you too. a lot.” he pulled you in for yet another hug, and this time you hid your face in the crook of his neck in order not to cry too much.

while you were hugging, you suddenly began to listen to the voices around you.

“that’s his girl/boyfriend, right?”

“wow, they’re so cute together. i’m jealous.”

“he’s talked so much about her, i’m glad he finally gets to see her again.”

you pulled away again and wiped away your tears with the sleeve of your shirt before caressing his face in your hands. “i’m so proud of you, do you know that? you’re working so hard, and-“ you cut yourself off to let out a small laugh as he began sobbing loudly. “hey, it’s fine! everything is fine!” you wiped away his tears with his thumbs and chuckled at his behavior. “you’re doing amazing and working so hard, and that is really great - but you need to rest sometime too, hm? you need to take breaks sometime to be able to perform your best.”
