Is it normal to not know you're experiencing dysphoria? Like if, when bra shopping or when you get your period (I think im ftm) you get really annoyed and upset but you don't know why?
Tobi: Hey nonnie! This is definitely a very individual experience type of question. Everyone’s experience with dysphoria can vary widely, from what you described, to being completely non-functional without certain accommodations. Something to remember and consider is that the DSM5 diagnoses gender dysphoria based on the level of effect those types of thought processes and feelings have on your ability to go through life. Just like with a lot of other diagnoses, you can experience a lot of the same types of things and experience symptoms, but only when it starts interfering with and impacting how you go about your daily life in a negative way does it start to become diagnosable.Â
Basically, what I’m trying to say is that you can experience gender dysphoria without it being incredibly debilitating. It’s a good idea to seek professional help if you can to explore those feelings you’re talking about though!Â
I hope this helps!
Do You Need Gender Dysphoria To Be Trans?
This seems to be a hot topic lately in the trans community. I decided to talk a bit about my experiences with it, also feel free to share and discuss.
Instead of saying chest dysphoria you can just say titty depression
