I hope your situation will get better soon, it’s really hard to not have many interactions… as kind of a shut in, I miss a lot of things too… I’m italian, so this has been going on for so long. I just hope it ends soon and we can slowly go back to some semblance of normality. Your art is awesome, I hope the stress will get lower once you don’t have to rely solely on commissions to go on :(
Thank you. I’ve been relying mostly on Commissions for 2 years now (although there has been studio work in between that time). I’m trying and planning and working towards moving somewhere else where I can hopefully get more studio work. Maybe another country with more studios and opportunities. But so far nothing had really gotten me anywhere yet. And now of course all that is on hold.
My point is... this has been a thing well before lockdown. and idk. I don’t know why suddenly this week it feels so much worse. And the worst thing is I don’t know if anything will change for the better once lockdown is over anyway.
I’m trapped in a situation where being online and present makes me feel like a failure, and not being online and present makes me feel like a failure that’s affecting my ability to just live (buy food. pay my bills. etc)
So I just feel like there’s no winning in this situation, which is making me feel even worse about it.
I’ve been trying so hard to change things and now every place where I frequent online has become a reminder of attempts that just met with failure. But I can’t just run and hide and take a break either. Because if I do I don’t eat.
I am sorry though. I know Italy has been having the worst time out of all of us at the moment. I do hope things improve soon, and that slow steps can be taken towards normality once again.
