THERE WERE ONLY TWO WAYS that this was going to go. either it would be his fault he was killed by zombies or she would be the death of him herself. joah couldn’t believe anyone as stupid as leo could have survived this long. granted, it was still only a little over a year into the outbreak so there was a chance that survival of the fittest could still kick in at any point ( one could hope, right? ). leo just kept talking, and talking, and TALKING. usually joah was good at ignoring things that would otherwise annoy her -- she had three older brothers so blocking men out when they spoke was a gift BUT -- leo’s voice was starting to weigh on her. still, she tries her best to focus on the task at hand which was food.
“FINALLY.” SHE VOICES WITH A soft sigh as a grocery store came into view. it felt like the pair had been walking forever but the sight before them -- and the chance to slip out of the sun for a bit -- just made all the miles worth it. “do you ever shut up?” she asks suddenly, talking to him for the first time in a while. “i swear all you do is talk. if you could kill zombies with words you’d actually be super helpful.”
