Dance with Devils Appreciation Week Day 4: Favorite Character (Mage Nanashiro)
Since Mage has his own day that fits the flower theme I have been doing, I decided to draw him with his sunglasses in his musical number. I love how much of a loveable dork Mage is under that tough guy exterior. I wasn’t sure what to do with the background so I used one of the backgrounds from ClipStudioPaint and added shading. I hope it matches well.

Dance with Devils Appreciation Week Day 1: Lindo Tachibana
For DwD week I decided to assign each character a flower based on Victorian flower meanings. Flowers are a Valentine’s thing afterall~ For Lindo I gave him a rainflower which means returned affections and atonement of sins. The rain also fits with his holy water and the petals remind me of trinity knots. I hope everyone finds the flower fitting for him as well.
Dance with Devils Character Appreciation Week Day 7: Roen
I couldn’t resist the urge to give Roen dogwood. However other than the obvious pun, dogwood has several meanings. Usually its known for religious symbolism because of the cross shape but in Victorian times it didn’t have that association yet. Dogwood used to be given as a sign of affection that may or may not be returned as a more conservative way of a love confession. Roen is always polite in his speech patterns so I thought that sounded like him. Dogwood is also traditionally sent in funeral bouquets as they stand for regret over a situation out of their control like a death which reflects losing his master. They also represent reliability which fits his serving nature.
I felt something simple suited best Roen for this piece so I just went with a flower crown. It reminds me of how people like to put flower crown filters on pictures of their dogs. XD
Dance with Devils Appreciation Week Day 2: Rem Kaginuki (Arlond)
Since Rem and Lindo are the two main posterboys of Dance with Devils, I decided to draw him in a way that mirrored Lindo. His flower is the hydrangea, which has many meanings. Victorians associated hydrangea with frigidity and coldness while in Japan they stand for heartfelt gratitude and deep understanding for another. I felt that these opposing meanings related well to Rem’s change to accepting Ritsuka’s feelings in the show. (LOL that Emo Liar XP)
Dance with Devils Appreciation Week Day 3: Urie Sogami
Urie is already associated with roses, so I didn’t really feel the need to give him a different flower for this challenge. Its pretty common knowledge that roses stand for love, romance, beauty, and passion. When I was thinking of how Urie should be posed with a rose (since he’s normally seen with roses and I didn’t want to make it boring) I got inspired by the famous rose petal scenes in American Beauty. Laying in a bed of petals is something he would totally do, don’t you think? Anyway, I hope all you Urie fans enjoy it. ;D

Dance with Devils Character Appreciation Week Day 6: Shiki Natsumezaka
For this week I gave Shiki nightshade. Nightshade doesn’t really have a Victorian flower meaning but I felt like Shiki should be given a poisonous flower to match his sadistic side. But as we all know, Shiki is also a huge masochist, so I had him biting a petal off the nightshade to symbolize both of those sides to his personality.
I was kind of at a loss for what to do for the background again so I just did the bedsheet thing like before with Mage. Hopefully its not becoming too repetitive.
