OOO for the Odd OC ask game, 🍰 for Dustros :D I feel like I haven't asked about him yet
ohoho its dustros time...
🍰: What's something your OC counts as unforgivable?
this is so incredibly easy to answer for dustros because its just slavery. straight up slavery. 100% unforgivable to him, he will not forgive and forget he will resent and remember. if you are involved in that in any way (including his fellow sith on the dark council) he knows! and he is waiting :)
if you want a less obvious answer... I would say it's water. dustros grew up a slave on tatooine. water was obviously precious, and given very sparingly to slaves such as himself. he's seen masters waste water rations and take it from their slaves later. he's seen hutt enforcers bully and beat the local moisture farmers to make up for the moisture they pump into the hutt palaces to make the hutts more comfortable. he was acutely aware of every spilled drink, every wasted drop, and so, so resentful of it.
as a sith lord he has as much water as he could drink. enough for multiple lifetimes, even. he has water showers and you know there are pools and fountains all over dromund kaas... he's not mad about them. but i think he has complicated feelings about water... especially when it comes to people weaponizing it (such as that one guy on dromund kaas that wants you to poison a water supply - that is something he would find unforgivable.)

Oooo i'll send a few more! 1, 5, 12, 27, 34 for any OC(s) you feel most like replying for :D
(Feel free to drop, add, or substitute any of those)
THANK YOU! :D i love answering these, they are surprisingly fun! I'm going to use a randomizer to decide who gets what for this one...
Are they afraid of losing their memory with age? Are there any memories they'd like to forget?
Cil'voe hasn't thought that far ahead yet, but he is not fond of losing memories, based on past trauma of having his memories of his family taken with him so he could be pressed into service as a navigator for the Ascendancy. The idea of losing his memories (again, potentially?) hurts. It's not terrifying so much as it is painful... He's very aware of what he's missing. It gnawed at him a lot when he was younger.
(the rest under the cut!)
12. Do they possess a secret that would destroy them if found out?
OH BOY DOES HE. MULTIPLE, IN FACT.
For starters, he is not actually Pantoran. He pretends to be Pantoran so that no one will recognize that he is actually a Chiss, which is part of the reason he is so deeply attached to his goggles. He associates them with safety... Even though the Republic doesn't know all that much about Chiss, he can't take any chances. He'll even say his "tattoos" that all Pantoran's have are close to his eyes -- and actually, isn't it rude and culturally insensitive of you to ask?
he is really, REALLY desperate not to be caught out, if you can't tell. Like, life or death desperate. and that is because of his even bigger original secret: the fact that as mentioned above, he was a navigator for the ascendancy.
between deployments, towards the end of his service when his force sensitivity started to fade, he cut and run. pretended to be a boy, got the hell out, and then was like actually im just going to be a boy forever. in a way, he killed his past self. the adcendancy might even see it that way, given that they have no idea what happened to the original cil'voe... he killed one of csilla's daughters and death sentence to the son that killed her... even though they are one and the same... yeah.
2. Do they believe some truths are better left buried?
haha, yes if mors <- my filler until i hit the randomizer and it came up mors... twas destiny
yeah, i mean. killing artus, taking his throne and lying about what happened to him is certainly a truth morsraut would rather be kept buried. mors clearly believes that there are circumstances where to do what you think is right, you have to lie. whether that truth stays buried forever, well, it depends on if it would effect the current outcome. no harm in digging up historical truths, but truths that would change the here and now? careful with those.
27. What do they consider real? Do they only believe in things they can see and touch?
dustros may not be the best person to ask this on account of the ghosts haunting him. they are real even if he can't touch them and most other people can't see them... even he can't see them all the time, just a lingering sense of wrongness. instead of letting the ghosts go after absorbing them, he kept them, but they retained their personalities. they're tied to his physical body, so they can manifest (to his eyes, and maybe some others) outside of him. they are still very much able to communicate with him mentally though. some days he wishes they weren't...
but yeah, dustros believes there is a lot that he hasn't discovered yet. that's part of the reason he took the chair of ancient knowledge, he wants to unravel all of those mysteries.
34. When thinking about themselves, are they a soul, a conciousness or a body? Do they think as I, we, or you?
"I" if it's just him, "you" if it's the ghosts, and "we" if he's referring to the physical body, because the ghosts are tied to that specfically. he certainly believes in having a soul seperate from the ghosts that are stuck to him, but would see himself as a blend of like. soul that is concious in a body. if that makes sense.
let it be known that these two have the exact same color and face settings on the slider... its the lighting... THE LIGHTING... but also love how different they look despite being. identical.
i am working on the concept of a lootbox mand'alor. you know how revan gets stuck in their timeout for ages? same concept, but completely accidental with a star-touched (force sensitive, ka'ra'tigaanla i think would be the translation?) mand'alor.
yes i HAVE been getting really into knights and king arthur and all that so. artus, mand'alor the free. famous for breaking their own chains and freeing themself from slavery as a teenager -- and then, going on a crusade (as mandalorians love to do) to free as many people as they could get their hands on.
i'm aiming for them to be an ancestor of dustros, or even a clone of him. I don't know how that would have worked out but the overlapping storyline of them both being slaves and freeing themselves and becoming leaders of their respective factions... it's also funnier because artus would look younger than dustros. same red hair and sith-gold eyes, different outcomes. different body types, even. i think they'd end up looking like siblings. of course you can't clone force sensitivity i don't think so thats just. well. sheer luck. im in charge here i can do what i want. i take the story and make it CRUNCHY, OK.
ok back to artus: i don't think they would've been mand'alor for long before being trapped. loot boxed if you will. a couple of years at best. but famous for technically being a teen king and making mandalore so anti-slavery during their reign that they freaked out the hutt cartel really bad. that's probably the rumor of how they died, that hutts got them (they are fine, they took a VERY VERY VERY long nap before someone dug them up.) pre-revan, post-exar kun leaves a very long possible timeline.
i dont have a new dustros screenshot so you get an old dustros screenshot but the LORE. HERE YOU GO.
Dustros!! He is usually scowling and focused on ancient texts or secret knoweledge… Inkkstained fingers, messy hair, dusty. Bruise-dark circles under his eyes from staying up binge reading all sorts of books.
He IS a member of the dark council eventually, as the SI although I gave him Darth Vindictus because he is. Well. Vindictive. He eventually ends up being the boss of my imperial agent, Cyresk… As with the SI backstory he was a slave and argues vehemently for the dark council to both outlaw slavery and allow more aliens in the ranks. And if he makes those reforms more necessary because he is actually out there attacking and killing slavers and freeing people? Well. Good. To him it is always morally correct to kill slavers and hutts no matter the situation. He'll couch it in different terms if he must for the council such as loyalty and economics and any other arguement he can think of… He is banned from nal hutta for sure and regularly advocates for burning it down or colonizing it and killing all the hutts in dark council meetings.
His slave past is… Not something he likes to dwell on, but also such an intrinsic part of him. He's always had red hair which is especially prized in slaves in star wars, alongside force sensitivity… but he subconciously used the force to avoid notice. The other slaves always helped to keep his hair practically shaved and with a light suggestion, the masters just assumed his hair was just a light brown rather than red. His eyes have always been gold, but that's just how the light hits them see? They're actually brown (he has no idea what color his eyes are they are always sith gold.) he escaped notice for AGES longer than he should have by virtue of keeping his head down and making himself just valuable enough to keep but not to trade away by learning his numbers. i want to say he eventually got caught and dragged to Korriban because he was working the freedom trail and filching money from his master to fund it. Which escalated into a full blown slave riot where nearly everyone on both sides got killed, but Dustros started using the force and. well. Welcome to Korriban! You have a cybernetics on your jaw now! Don't worry about that you for SURE didn't almost die or anything.
He couldn't read much or write when he got there, so you can bet the overseers were looking down on him… He loves to learn though. The one thing the masters can't take from you is your thoughts… He follows some very traditional slave lines of thinking… There's a fanon slave language called amatakka where the words death and freedom are exactly the same, if you want to use that to read into him. Guy who claws his way to the top with every scrap of power he can get his hands on. Which made fake-dating Fenley at this venture especially advantageous… Two Dark Council Apprentices dating each other and raising hell for their masters, what will they do?
He's not a good person though, or I guess he would prefer not to be thought of as one. If you personally think he is then you are delusion to him unless you are a fellow slave he helped free, and even then. He has an eye for an eye mentality and he can't stand the Republic. He thinks their law system is worse than the dark council's because they enforce it so shoddily. His personal experience from the Republic actually comes almost entirely through being a dark council member… And he is not impressed. The Republic outlaws slavery, and yet. Lot of slavery happening over there. Making it illegal doesn't stop anyone and the Senate is far more bogged down than the Dark Council. Nothing over there gets done and everyone has a secret personal agenda that isn't to the planet they're meant to represent -- at least the Dark Council streamlined things. The hipocrisy of the republic grinds on him and to him, at least the empire doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. The grand ideals of the Republic mean nothing to him because ideals aren't REAL unless you Make them real… And the Republic is failing in his eyes.. Plus, he's heard a LOT from slaves and ex-slaves about the laws stopping jedi from freeing slaves/attacking hutts and so on and so forth. He thinks the Jedi are basically being conscripted to be attack dogs for ideals that don't even exist in real life. He's not necessarily against the Jedi and doesn't hate them personally, but if they start acting like the dogs the Senate wants them to be then they may as well die like dogs.
So yeah.. Dustros is ultimately a very pragmatic guy who is set in his beliefs. Oh and his last name is Redsun and he keeps it. He is NOT related to that force ghost it just adopted him out of nowhere... OH and he is haunted by many ghosts. His body is being haunted. He can see them and tell them to shut up but no one else can so if you see him having an arguement at 3am with no one there.... You Know.
Unrelated but I'm realizing just now that this means he extremely disrespects Darth Thanaton as a former slave who went on to have his own slaves. that beef is EXTRA PERSONAL.

dustros + fenley fake dated?? how did that go? did they get along or did they wind up hating each other. did anyone else suspect it was fake?
i haven't talked very much about dustros!! i need to make a post about him... I have his lore its just picking it all up and putting it into a post...
fenley and dustros met briefly on korriban because fenley (ex-jedi) did not care that dustros was a former slave in literally any way at all. it was a fairly brief acquaintanceship but a positive one. and then of course fenley got kidnapped by baras, dustros got scooped up by zash, and they had zero contact until baras managed to threaten/manipulate fenley back to korriban post-escape.
in my world, baras was part of the dark council sooner than in game, so i imagine they have business on dromund kaas a lot. and at this point, thanaton took the reins of his department too, so dustros and fenley under the thumbs of their respective masters who almost certainly want them dead.
teaming up was natural. it was fenleys idea to play it off as a romance. sith are all about passion after all -- which allowed him the ability to interfere in the kaggath (i dont know if a partner actually could, but i'm going to say thanaton agreed because dustros framed it in terms of possession. and sith lords in kagath are entitled to use all of their personal posessions, men, estates, etc. so, it worked in a loophole-esque style). and fenley, besides loving the chaos of it all, was very good at helping dustros seem like he wasn't able to defend himself -- because fenley came and did that for him when he could. staying underestimated is a big part of their play.
fenley playing into im passionate and someone needs to hold my leash wild thing stereotypes while dustros is very sneaky. so he needs a cover to be able to get into things and get around without people suspecting that he can actually hold his own. just a lucky, weak ex-slave who caught the eye of a much more powerful sith. nothing to see here.
they played the romance aspect. not normally. which is probably what sold it. dustros, was, as always, long-suffering and biting and sarcastic, wheras fenley ran more along the lines of surprised at his bite, thrilled that dustros made him fight for every inch and amusedly indulgent.
i remember one scene thats in a draft somewhere, where dustros calls fenley to take care of a trap thanaton was luring him into and he just gets a holo of fenley at the club, people hanging off both arms, looking VERY not put together. he just looks and deadpans, "i will forgive whatever this is if you get over here right now" and fenley thinks thats so so funny. because. they are not together. but he does go is the thing.
and of course dustros sits there and reads some sith text while fenley kills people and when he's done fenley is like. hey. where is my reward. :) and dustros is like oh of course and leans down and bites him really hard on the neck instead of kissing him. this is the most fun fenleys had in ages and honestly. i dont think any of the other sith question it. they dont get caught. aside from attending various droumund kaas events (they are. dark council apprentices. i imagine there are appearances to maintain in that regard) they do spend time together. mostly plotting to kill their masters.
their masters who btw are not at ALL thrilled with this little partnership and getting less thrilled by the day. it does lead to the inevitable confrontation being a 2v2.
oh and once they were secure in their seats they dont say ANYTHING and behave mostly the same way. so when someone finally asks theyre straight up like oh we were never dating. lol. lmao, even. vowrawn thinks its funny as shit and so does fenley.
