Damning Nicknames
The first time Jim called Nina 'Baltimore', the glare was immediate. I already know what her reaction will be next. He figured that the younger woman would have been offended by the nickname. "That's not my name," Jim grinned at the response. Quick and with a sharp tone. Oh, Jim was going to have fun teasing the young woman.
"Your name is cute," Jim was honest with Nina, causing her to feel flustered at the way the man was acting. "People like me don't have the right to use it," the older man told Nina, who couldn't believe the words that fell from his lips.
"That's my decision, isn't it?" Nina questioned, causing Jim to stare at her. Why is he looking at me like that? Nina wanted to ignore the butterflies in her stomach she continued to feel from the older man's intense stare. Nina had to remind herself that the older man was a criminal, and yet, her heart continued to race.
"That's right. That is your decision, baby girl," Jim decided to use a new pet name, and just like that, Jim knew he had flustered Nina enough.
"Y-you…" The other woman was completely flustered, and it made Jim give younger woman a soft smile that made Nina glance away from him.
