Alpha One wasn't sure what made them look.
Maybe it was just something in the way that their eyes shifted. Or maybe it was the way their hair fell against their chin. Or the way they stood, line in line with the others, but something slightly slumped.
The soldier stopped. They turned as they approached. "Ye...Yes, my Alpha?"
They stepped closer, scanning their face.
There was nothing to suggest that anything was amiss. Their eyes were blue and white. Their hair was blue, pressing almost distractingly against the nape of their neck. They did stiffen as Alpha One stepped closer, but that could just be at their personal space being intruded upon. They stared up at them.
They would check that. But, there was nothing, not even a hint of ash. There was no red, no hint of darkness, just blue and light.
Siv was not here, at least in this corridor.
"Go about your business."
"Yes, Alpha One." They turned and marched off before they could think about stopping them.
They didn't have time to waste in stopping them.
Siv was out there, and Alpha One needed to get her.
The soldier marched down a few hallways, until there was nobody around. Without a second of pause, they ducked into a closet.
Siv sighed as the disguise released.
That was close, too close.
She wasn't sure what tipped Alpha One off, but whatever it was, the scene was a warning. She had to toe carefully.
She felt her body shift and change, her red changing to match the blue, as she got out of the closet.
