I hesitate to call any fandom theories “delusional” after Sauron proposed to Galadriel in season one and then she was kissed by Elrond in season two. You really don’t want to take anything off the table when it comes to The Rings of Power theories.

I’m considering hosting a spring-themed Tolkien fandom event called Maytide in Arda, open to all corners of the legendarium:

The Silmarillion

The Hobbit

The Lord of the Rings

The Rings of Power

What this would be:

A low-pressure, thematic prompt event, focused on spring, renewal, journeys, and decisions.

Open to any medium (fic, art, meta, playlists, edits, etc) No minimums word counts. No canon policing.

What this is not:

Not ship-exclusive

Not era-exclusive

Not tied to one adaptation

Likely format:

A short, flexible event in May (around a week), with one theme per day and late entries always welcome.

I love the little RoP-friendly, Tolkien fan group here on Tumblr. Finding an online space to participate in fandom without being sucked into a whirlpool of toxicity, or dealing with outside hate for the show has been difficult and I'm so grateful for all of you who create and lead with joy.

I want to tag everyone I have ever interacted with who had an interesting meta, a good faith discussion, a baller meme or gorgeous fanart/fic, but I would run out of space or forget a cherished name, so if this applies to you, know it applies to you. It's been such a joy to find this little space and I love you all. 🖤
