So today. Even with new realises of Banshee’s and Incubi I decided f*** it and brought. The Blood of the Phoenix. I want a man box of Eldar. And Jain Zar and her GF's are STUNNING models. Please GW do more Plastic Craftworld stuff. Please I was VERY VERY tempted by Cutsodes and Sisters of Silence. But I maybe that can be a slowly growing army. I also need to find some GW lady heads that fit Custdoes bodies. Statques do amazing heads but their Non GW parts and I dont know SOB heads feel maybe too small.
OHH the new box set is out and I gotta say looks cool I expect the lore to be... (pains me to say this) crap but models look great. Especially Banshee’s and JIAN ZAR looks so much better.
But there 2 major issues for me.
1) it's meant to be a BIG deal box set, that is the start of a massive narrative arc. WHY are there two 20+ year old models in there. WHY you could have updated them as well. The Durkhari stuff isn’t fresh either but still looks great., The vehicles look so dated nowadays. This just says to me GW isn't going to commit to Aeldari stuff.
2) Ahem ÂŁ140... WOW. that's expensive for one boxset. like shit. And this is the UK it will be cheapest here outside UK prices SKYROCKET.
The best way to expand a fraction and get interested is to make getting into it accessible that means making it a good price. Most people will not splurge £140 on the spot to buy a boxset to try armies. Most parents will not buy that for their kiddies and Kiddies grew up to become hobbyists who buy more models.
The thing that worries me this box set is a catch 22. If the box set sells well GW will say “Hooray we can make more boxes at £140 and people will still buy it.”
If the box doesn't sell well they can say “Well clearly Xenos don't sell. so let's focus on marines more.”
Games Workshop are you trying to kill off interest in the Aeldari? because this is a very good step in that direction.
P.S: I won't even touch the lore or rules stuff. Obvious we don't know what it will be at the time of writing, but with 40k’s current record of treating women in rules and lore... I am worried.
My attempt at a female Haemonculus using the Medusi bodies and some extra arms.
I got the idea right but Honesty Not super happy with it. Mostly because the green stuff looks appalling. My silly fault, I’m not good with molding putty and for some reason I decided to try this whilst I was very tired and sleepy. Well done me.
However, if I can get someone good with a crafting knife and file to help me it should look Passable. the idea there.
The head she’s holding. Suppose to be the still living head of her former Mentor, which counts as the nightmare doll. Don’t worry Mentor’s only doing this because she lost a bet and has to spend the next few years as a severed head before she gets her body back. Which is quite tame by Coven standards.
I tried to make a doll like a shape using greenstuff and the little dragon (I’m not having my models torture little dragons that just mean) but didn't work, so hacking down the one-handed spear I realised that have plenty of left overheads. And the female head form the Sprite Revenants look creepy enough and has a hole in it it will attach better than a normal head. I tried a marine head but that failed, too big for arm really. Speaking of Arms also stole one of the arms form the Spirterevant set as well, a bit bigger, but I think the long, stretched out fingers add a nice touch, and sorta help make this model feel more disturbing.
Somewhen I ’m gonna get the Wracks set and take parts from that to make another Haemonculus model look more like a mad scientist.
Still, for the first crack at it it looks alright needs some touches up but a good try for future models.

You know something.
I love the Durkhari model line. The modern one I really do. And if when the Craftworld get updated they get updated based on these designs it be great.
Kabal it warriors, Wych es Scours are still some of my favourite kits ever.
Yet... stupid fat fingers. And transport. I have never found a safe way to transport Durkhari vechiles. Maybe if I make the sails detachable.
O. K. My winning done for today. Love these models but just how fragile they are puts me off. Still at least thier not resin, unlike their Craftworld cousins.
