Hello! I've had my hermit crab for almost a year now, and he always burries himself under a toy log I got him, I can't tell if or if he has molted, what are the signs? Also I just tried a new diet for him because he is so lethargic, do you have any ideas of why he is so inactive and what I can do to help? (I let him run around on the floor for a bit everyday, but in his tank he is always burried) thank you so much!! Your blog is so helpful
If he’s molted, the tips of his legs will be super, super pointy! He might also have some changes in his activity and personality, as well as the color of his exoskeleton. The best sign is the pointy tips though.
Crabs can often become very lethargic right before molting, actually!
