FROM NEW DR DAS ALBUM AVAILABLE ON BANDCAMP https://drdas.bandcamp.com/ "PREPARING 4 WAR" released Jan 14 2014. “Preparing 4 War” is an instrumental set that continues the ‘dubnoiz’ theme of Dr Das’s first album “Emergency Basslines.” Once again, his enormous bass melodies are set against a shifting, tense environment of noise and percussion. However, the production is heavier and the compositions more direct, indicating his development as a producer and remixer. As before, Dr Das has deliberately chosen to not use words, but to focus peoples’ attention on sound and encourage people to visualise for themselves. However, this music is seething with INTENT. Every bassline, rhythm and ‘noiz’ is a metaphor for human action and emotion. There is anger, optimism and militancy. These are politically motivated frequencies. This music is designed to make people dance, to shake down inhibitions, to make love. Dr Das is directing us to a conflict being played out in various forums and in our own minds: should we engage in trying to change things OURSELVES? Or do we continue to delegate responsibility to others? Highly recommended for headphone listening. Do not on any account, listen on computer speakers-you'll be missing half the story!
