yesterday clerk t reorganized some of the donated books we've been drowning in, and in the process unearthed something called arms from the sea, with a pretty, swirly, tentacle/seaweed-y cover. and we were kind of standing around after closing chitchatting/kvetching and it caught my eye and i had... a Feeling. an Instinct, if you will. so i picked it up and read the inside flap and it really sounds like gay tentacle erotica? i glanced at some reviews just now and perhaps it isn't but... i might take it home and read it myself just to find out, before we put it in the used book sale for a dollar

Apropos of nothing, have I mentioned how much I like Japanese woodblock prints? My favorites have to do with demons and Noh theater, but some of the subject matter artists have chosen to depict is... a little odd to say the least.
Here is probably one of the most famous woodblock prints, The Dream of the Fisherman’s Wife (1814) by Hokusai:
