Another DTPAY I did because I desperately need an ego boost right now. The big answer I asked myself with this one was ‘can I draw clothesless, hairless anthros?’

Kind of?

There’s honestly not much to this piece, since, again, this was a piece done to recover my shattered ego. Two big ones with this one, though:

The chest fluff: I still have no idea what I’m doing! I think this iteration looks alright, but there’s no chance I’ll be able to replicate it.

The eyes. Oh boy, the eyes. Merlot (forgor to mention but that’s the name of the character) is depicted with a solid black iris, and that’s something my art style doesn’t really look great with. I even tried DM’ing LeafyArctic for help (no response. I’m pretty sure this one wasn’t seen either 💀). I tried to add a bit of gloss/sheen (didn’t look good), lighten the iris (didn’t look good), and I just gave up and went with this.

Taking a break from animating (since I have no idea what to do for Dusk or Powder Keg), I've decided to take another crack at drawing other people's stuff.

I drew Klaus' character, General, twice. This is extremely atypical for a DFTPAY, but I did it for a very good reason: because I did the first drawing, scrapped it and started on another, but sunk cost fallacy made me finish it and do another.

Okay, the first drawing was the shell-staff swinging. I have no idea what I'm doing with shoulders, and it's pretty clear how heavily clothes carry my artstyle - the overall linework is bland and... wrong. The second drawing, General yelling, I felt was much better.

General is portrayed as a relatively plump lad, but my art style doesn't really allow this to be conveyed very well. I tried by making the lower body parts wider than the upper ones, but at some point it was pretty clear that nothing I really did was working and I kind of gave up.

The second challenge was General's 'stache. General has rather remarkable facial hair, but for a few reasons (none of them good) I didn't actually try all that hard to make it look the part. It's just fine.

I'm half-certain Klaus never saw this.
