So while I was in Sweden my first camera on DSPO (one of Hipstamatic's ones) expired but I only really got a chance to go through it over the weekend. I didn't have anybody to shoot with so for starters I thought I'd do a 30 day roll and just see how it went.

I'd forgotten about some of the shots so it was nice to see them. But I do have one complaint about the app. You can only successfully take photos if you are on wifi or on some kind of 3G etc. I learnt this the hard way when I took a few at the football and they couldn't upload instantly. I hoped it wouldn't be a problem but as you can see in this roll no football photos! For this reason I couldn't shoot with it in Sweden either as it doesn't store them until you get back to a place with data and then upload it just ignores them.

VEGAS HIPSTAMEET

Over weekend of April 23-26, eleven Hipstamatic-devoted friends from four different states gathered in Las Vegas to take in the many photo ops the city has to offer. Though many of us had met in various Hipstamatic groups on-line, the trip gave us the chance to gather in real life, get to know each other better and enjoy the fun of shooting together. It was also the perfect opportunity to try out Hipstamatic’s new DSPO app.

We toured many photo-worthy sites including the Neon Museum, the historic Fremont Steet area, the Frank Gehry-designed Cleveland Clinic building, Cirque du Soleil’s Beatles “Love” show and The Strip.The DSPO made a great accompaniment to Hipstamatic and Oggl, allowing us to capture candid moments along the way.

Hipstamatic DSPO, A Disposable Camera App for Groups

Hipstamatic’s DSPO is a “disposable” group camera app. Invite friends via message, Facebook or Twitter, and they can add their photos to a group.

The gimmick is that the group has a duration, from one hour to one year. Nobody can see the photos until the time is up, and then everyone can see them.
