Phoenix Digital Summit Conference Recap
Last week I had the opportunity to attend the 2014 Digital Summit in Phoenix. It was a great chance to network with others in the industry and hear about current and upcoming trends.
My favorite takeaway was actually from scrolling through Twitter. I was following the conference hashtag #DSP14 to see what fellow attendees where saying about the sessions when I came across this promoted tweet below from coldstoneofficialcreamery:
This is a great example of using social media effectively. There were multiple tweets stating they visited the store just because of this single tweet. Cold Stone engaged in real-time, targeting a whole new set of customers that were in the area at that time.
Throughout the conference I noticed two prominent points were being made no matter what session I was in: "quickness" and "engagement".
Quickness because our target audience is online and in the digital space that is ever-changing. You must act quickly to keep up with them. To capitalize on this, try many different things to see what works. Analyze each item once it's completed and adjust your plan from there.
The other was, engagement, because as we all know, you can't measure the ROI of a "like". It is important to set goals based on engagement not how many people follow you. After all, the goal of social media is to interact and ENGAGE with your fans, customers, etc.
Did you attend the conference? We'd love to hear what you thought about it!
