Hi, a while ago I had come out as Genderfluid and it made me really happy when I found a word for how I felt but now I'm not so sure. I've realized that I'm getting more and more comfortable with being associated as male. I don't know how to feel now or what to do. -DsJJ
Hello dear,
I would like to let you know that you can identify as anything you want to, whenever you want to. Please don't feel pressured to attach a name or a label to yourself if your not quite sure yet, it is completely fine. Gender is 100% fluid and can change even day to day, and that is fine. You could be genderfluid for a while, and then feel more male, and then feel genderfluid again- or something completely different, the way you identify and what you label it as (or don't label it as) is your choice.
Maybe you could experiment a little bit with the male gender and see how that makes you feel? Maybe with friends and family you are close with and trust you could ask them to refer to you as male for a little bit, and then you can see if that feels right for you. It might fit well, it might fit temporarily or it might not really fit at all, and which ever one of those it is, is okay. You do not owe it to anybody to attach a label to yourself- that is for you to decide when you want to assign a word to it and what you want that word to be. There is no pressure to explain yourself to anyone.
Please take care,Adrienne xx
