Dry green peas full curry
Ingredients
2 cups Green peas (Matar) , fresh preferably
5 Potatoes (Aloo)
4–5 Onions
2 Tomatos
3 tablespoons Oil
1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
1 teaspoon Cumin (Jeera)
1/2 teaspoon Mustard (mohari)
7–8 spring Curry leaves
2/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
1 teaspoon Red Chilli powder
1 teaspoon Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
1 teaspoons home made masala powder
Coriander (Dhania) Leaves
Salt , to taste
1. Soak the dried green peas in plenty of water, overnight, or for 6–8 hours.
2. When they are sufficiently rehydrated, drain the soaking water. Place this in a pressure cooker with 2.5 cups of fresh water. Pressure cook for 5–6 whistles .
3.While the peas are in pressure cooker, prepare the base for the curry.
4. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan. Add the cumin, mustard ,spring Curry leaves
5. Once the seeds splutter, add chop onions and saute on medium flame for 5–6 minutes or until onions are golden brown.
6. Add chop tomatoes and patato cubes
7. Once the cooker is cool enough to open, remove the cooked peas and add to the prepared curry base.
