@drunkenusurper liked this for a king aurane au starter
dead, or supposed to be. aurane stares again and again at the small scroll delivered by raven. but the script is far too familiar, the handwriting he's seen a million times as boys, as men. there is no incriminating information, merely a place, a time, a promise.
aegon ii is supposed to be dead, and aurane has lived with that truth for six months now. each of his family members are supposed to be dead -- and the crown left at his feet still smoldering and covered in blood. it had taken him weeks to wake from his bout against daemon, and when he had, reality had nearly killed him. now, it is once again threatened.
still, aurane cannot hide the temptation ; he leaves the keep in the middle of the night as instructed, covered in a deep green cloak ( by coincidence, alone ), and moves towards the tavern they'd visited often. the king follows the familiar path through the rooms, finally finding a small door. he does not knock when he opens it, and the person he sees is -- " aegon. you are --. . . you are supposed to be . . " his voice dies out in his throat. dead, by poisoning, by some grand conspiracy. tears burn and threaten to spill, but aurane steps forward quickly, gripping at his twin's arm and pulling him harshly into a hug.
