i think at a certain point we need to ask ourselves if we value authenticity and honesty in communication and our expressions of ourselves, or if we value people using the exact correct language in correct tone more. because i think we genuinely are about to lose people’s ability to honestly express themselves in art or in general.

right now we are acting as if we value accuracy in communication SO MUCH SO that we are willing to participate in a surveillance state policing of each other where we base our opinions on a 20 second clip of what somebody said. and oftentimes, misunderstanding things like hyperbole and satire. i see even really smart people taking things very literally at face value when it’s from a comedy podcast or some situation where it is obviously not 100% serious.
