Planning for Burial, Drowse, tbi, Losing December 18th, 2016 Next week we get to play another show with our friend Planning for Burial. I could not be more excited to watch his set and get a glimpse of his new material.
A collection of songs representing the shifting sounds of the music I make as drowse and in Floating Room. A brief stylistic overview.
memory (Lyrics by Maya Stoner)
lying in bed, I find an egg
I hold it to the light and see its insides
they’re still there somehow
beneath a pale shell,
that should’ve been broken by now
things like you don’t last too long
look at what the arborists have done
I’ve got no limbs, I cannot hold a thing
I wish you could’ve seen me back when I was strong
This tree is no place for an egg to find it’s home (no place like this)
things like you don’t last too long
far away I climb a hill
make my way up a cement tower
where bad kids in uniform
smoke cigarettes and write curse words
you ask me to write to you
instead I sing this song
but not loud enough to makes its way
across an ocean or a field
you write
but not fast enough
to catch me
before I come home
“A heartbreaking study of detachment and intimacy imbued with all of the wonder, pain, and uncertainty of returning from an emotional hiatus, like the aural equivalent of blood rushing back to a sleeping limb.” -Noisey
‘memory bed’ came out on Friday and you can stream it now. Last time I checked there were 12 copies left and I’m not sure when or if there will be a repress--you can pick one up here.

Really dreamy show in LA tonight
My laptop and external hardrive were stolen outside of our show last night. Six months worth of recordings I'd been working on for an album and all of my writing gone. I'm crushed--at least I have lyrics in a notebook and songs in my head. I'm not going to make a go fund me or anything, but now would be a really good time to buy something from my Bandcamp if you want to help me/us out before we go on tour Wednesday.
