Larus being another version of Ethan has been a thought that never left me alone for a really long time
Considering how i used to imagine Gargoyle Steven before as a concept, with my desire to add Syris as a romantic interest for him, before changing the course and making the actual Ethan be with Connie in the end
I really felt like i could still yeet that concept in a way that I would be satisfied, and not completely discard it. Because Syris was way too good of a design for me to just simply forget like that
I was heavily influenced by the fact that i drew Larus design being lazy and adding Ethan features on him just for experimenting, and then the idea popped in my mind
What if he was actually Ethan? In a sense?
And then i heard the Epic musical song about Odysseus reuniting with Penelope and it was all i needed to put the concept to paper
Larus inner struggle with his past and a tragedy of reuniting through his gem power with the only one he truly loved
And yes he loathes our Ethan very much
