    “I am curious to know how you view all this, Dr. Grady. Seeing the fossils you’ve studied for years walk and breathe. Eat, sleep, and hunt. Do you marvel at them or does their very existence bother you?” Dr. Wu knew that some paleontologists looked down on this line of work. They’d rather study the bones and teeth than stare at a biological recreation.

     “NOWADAYS people seem to find the very mention of science to be overtly offensive, Dr. Grady. But there are certain things that cannot be said without a negative connotation.” The geneticist gave a shrug of indifference.

     After all the opening commotion died down, Anna practically ran over to the other woman, engulfing her in a hug. “Jaq! I am so happy you could make it! What do you think? You are the woman who helped make this dream a reality, after all!” 

     Marisol let out a soft laugh. “¡Está bien! Everyone has knocked a bucket of food into the tank at one point or another. The girls will just get their meal much quicker than I intended. And for that, they thank you.”

     “All the tiny herbivores are super adorable, Jaq, but you know I love my carnivores. Particularly the Spinosaurids. I’m a bit biased.” Annalisa gave a playful wink before busting out laughing. “They are really cute, though. They’d probably make great pets if they stayed this small.”

Just because Owen and I are sure to never recover from this traumatic occurance does not mean we’re drama queens, Mom.
