      “you could have gotten hurt-” marco allowed his ‘mom side’ to come out as he visibly checked the other over for any signs of injury, “what were you thinking?”

              “probably. they usually say stuff that sounds like that.”

     “oh,” marco paused to take a step back and glance over at the stranger. “that’s spike. you can pet him?” the dog in question seemed to understand exactly what his owner was saying as his tail became an almost blur from wagging so fast. 

“I would name a dog spyro if I ever got a new one. spyro is a cool name for a dog.”

“hey! you don’t have to talk like that.”

marco would never claim that he was intune with flirting or whatever ‘love language’ people claimed to use when they were interested in someone. who knew how many relationships he had accidentally passed over because he was clueless? but that was also assuming that people were actually interested in marco in that way. the confession seemed to catch him off guard as he simply stared for a moment. “really?” he didn’t mean to sound so skeptical! he was simply a little surprised. 

               there was a small chuckle at the response from the boy as a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips. minnow was sweet, he knew that, and he meant well. but some of the things that he said? it sounded a bit ridiculous.  ❛   thank you, minnow. that’s sweet.   ❜  marco couldn’t stop the fondness that he had for the other from leaking into his voice.  ❛   but I’m not all too worried about finding a soulmate.   ❜
