How do you #dress #profesh on a Friday? Do you wear a suit, a dress, jeans and a t-shirt, heels, tennis shoes or etc? What are your thoughts?
This is an outfit I would wear on a Friday to attend my classes. It is comfortable, warm, and my style. This is how I dress profesh.
Today I was going for more of a comfortable and warm look. I am wearing skinny blue jeans, boots, a nice blouse, and a long sleeve sweater. These past two days I have worn dresses for presentations. The reason I am wearing this outfit is because my knees and ankles have been hurting due to walking in flats with poor support, so today I wanted to wear more comfortable shoes.
I am wearing a pair of oldish jeans, a button shirt, and a vintage tie watch. It’s all comfortable to me. It’s sort of a semi-dress style; it’s not formal enough where I have to worry about spilling lunch on myself. I think we should feel comfortable in academic communities and this extends to my clothes. Acceptance at this conference workshop is offered to all--I’d be just as comfortable in shorts and a t-shirt. However, I often dress like this when I lead, and it helps orient me to “this is work--work I love to do and take seriously” (but not too seriously :) in my in my vintage 1950s tie which is special to me because it reminds me of a different age, different connections, and the person who gave it to me).
Hi everyone, my name is Samantha. I am currently a college student interning for Dress Profesh. Today I am wearing my favorite color, my favorite scarf, and some of my favorite accessories. I would like to consider dressing professional as being able to express myself while looking ‘presentable’ to others however, would society think so? Can I really wear leggings to work? Will this outfit help enforce the idea that I am serious? Maybe it all depends on the culture and values of the company where my attire can be appropriate? What do you think?
