Firstly I apologise for the lack of post last week, complications on the blog made it difficult to arrange things so we’re sorry for that! But all is well and good with the blog now so we can get our schedules back on track again.

I have a mixture of things to tell you all about this week, I currently feel like I’m back at school doing a show and tell for you all. There are some very exciting performances coming up in the next couple of months, the wonderful West End cast of A Chorus Line will be performing a cabaret at Leicester Square Theatre on Monday 5th August at 11PM for @ActingforOthers so if you’re free get yourself down there. Along with this news The Colour Purple: the musical is in good ol’ Blighty! We also have more CD news for you all, Rachel Tucker’s new album The Reason will be on the website very soon and we delighted to have some signed copies for you as well. More details will be posted at a later date so keep those eyes peeled! Hot off the press the new Broadway cast recording of Pippin has arrived . Pre-orders will be sent out today.

And finally next Sunday the very talented Scott Alan is at the IndigO2! For those of you who already have tickets have an amazing time and let us know all about it in the comments below, our Facebook or Twitter pages. Scott will be joined by some amazing guests such as Wicked’s very own Willemijn Verkaik (you can also catch her on the Apollo Victoria stage later this year) and Shoshana Bean, West End’s Molly Jensen Siobhan Dillon and Ricardo Afonso who most recently took The Voice by storm. Judging by these special guests the night is set to be incredible, so if you haven’t gotten your tickets just yet there are a few left so grab them quickly!

We have some news for you all, if you were not aware beforehand I’ll fill in the details for you. Unfortunately A Chorus Line has announced its West End closing date. This August we will bid farewell to the Olivier nominated revival so get your tickets quick! But never fear there are talks of both a European tour and UK tour in the autumn next year, so if you’re unable to get your hands on tickets before August there may still be a chance for you to see the show!

And finally, we are in the middle of some audition weeks here in London. Yep that’s right new casts are being auditioned until they collapse in most likely a puddle of their own sweat… Sounds delightful right? But it will all be worth it once the lucky ones get a part in the show! A few weeks ago auditions for Disney's Newsies the musical took place which excites me more than I can describe and I’m sure us Brits will make it as amazing as the original/current Broadway casts. Also, Miss Saigon auditions will take place from the 2nd July, which is also extremely exciting as Mr Mackintosh has recently announced the revival of this successful musical. If all goes well the auditionees will be back in the rehearsal room next spring before heading back to the stage.

Oh there’s so much things that make me happy about the current few weeks here in theatre land. How are you all reacting to all this new news!? I literally cannot wait for Newsies and Miss Saigon right now it’s unbelievable! Until next time… Alice

Hello my theatre lovelies!

Firstly I’d like to introduce myself as the new blogger for the delightful dresscricle.com! It’s great to be part of the team and I look forward to engaging in the conversations to end all conversations in the very near future. So I’m Alice and I’m always ready for a chat in the comment section below, so don’t be shy to say hello or express your opinions there!

Now that that’s out of the way we can get down to business (I’ll refrain from singing Mulan… It’s in your head now isn’t it? Sorry!)

We have a bundle of news for you wonderful lot so let’s get started. Last week the Broadway cast recording of Annie was released on the website and we’d love to know what you think of it. I know my inner 8 year old is finding her ginger wig and red dress so that every time I listen to It’s a Hard Knock Life or Tomorrow I can channel Annie. If you haven’t gotten around to purchasing the do it!

Sticking with the Broadway theme, very soon the current Broadway cast recording of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella is almost upon us! This new soundtrack features amazing talents such as Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana and Victoria Clarke. The new cast bring a burst of freshness to the musical and if the Tony’s performance is anything to go by we will be in for a complete treat with this CD! just click on the link and buy your own copy now

And that’s just half of it! Soundtracks for both Giant and Passion are also on sale over on dresscircle.com. On the 8th July Giant is released for your ears, yep there’s some ear candy for you! All details for it can be found on the link:

And from the 15th July you can get Sondheim’s Passion for a small £13.99 in which you’ll hear all the songs from the musical performed by world renown stars, Judy Kuhn, Melissa Errico and Ryan Silverman.
