also known as Captain Calypso…. I am quite fond of her and she’s pretty fun to draw :3

Built around my Dread Queen Persephone pendant, these prayer beads include six sets of six 8mm garnets with seven obsidian 10mm spacers strung on 18 gauge silver wire with a black silk tassel at the bottom.

The central charm depicts Persephone in three of her aspects: Dread Queen (the skull), goddess of spring and flowers (the flowering vines), and patron of the immortalizing Eleusinian Mysteries (the skull's mushrooms crown). I received this image during an oracular session this spring, not long before Beltane, and is the flagship design of my inaugural Samhain Line. The pendant is one inch across and  3/16ths of an inch thick, solid and made to last, with a loop that can be used to attach a cord or chain or any kind of bail.

The garnet beads represent the pomegranate seeds Hades offered her in the underworld. The obsidian represents the darkness of the earth and the underworld.

If you would like the image cast in a different metal, or the beads strung on bronze instead of silver, please let me know and I would be delighted to make a custom variation for you.

two women who placed themselves on either side of life and death to merge the planes and gain power together. the dread queen wholly with death. captain widow who invites death as a vessel to cradle and carry her love. and then the empress who maintains a place BETWEEN life and death; petrification. all three of them have rooted their plans and intentions in love and desire. captain widow and the dread queen; the empress whose story is rooted in the imagery of desire.

i think they could be really silly. three adoring, powerful, perhaps morally questionable women who live for each other, who love each other so deeply they would try to change and control the very nature of life and death. they r OBSESSED WITH EACH OTHER!!

umm names for them. heartstring = heart associations (dread queen heart, captain widow making the heart, the empress' hole-in-your-heart), string imagery (dread queen + captain widow spiderwebs, the empress' musical strings), it also feels very intimate.
