i started watching a dog and a plane because you recommended it. having so much fun. first thai bl i'm watching. i first followed you in the good iwtv days. rip. anyway, do you have a list of recs for thai bls? im not asking you to make one but wondering if you already have a post like that.
god nothingggg makes me happier than knowing i've directly or indirectly introduced someone to a piece of art they enjoy thank youuu for telling me <3 so glad you're having fun with it, i think it's definitely a great introductory thai ql!!!!!!
i do not have a rec list for the genre, i always feel like there's SO MUCH i haven't yet watched i couldn't do it justice!!
but if you're enjoying adaap you are going to LOVE jojo's other shows!!! that summer if you're enjoying the classic romcom tropes the most and the heart killers if you like the humor, the warp effect and mama gogo also great examples of jojo humor but they're not bl (though twp is ql and another show i think of as great intro thai tv). the warp effect stars new aka kanit, and jojo's 3 will be free is arguably bl and starring tay aka toto!!! and my FAVORITE thai show bar none i think. and jojo's only friends (and girl rules if you enjoy only friends) is simply well done fun sexy television about beautiful gay people having romantic drama so if you are enjoying the relationships themselves, you'll definitely enjoy both. if you can't tell jojo tichakorn is my favorite thai screenwriter/director and possibly my soulmate (or maybe youve seen me post enough about him to know that).
without actually tripping and falling into a proper rec list some other good places to head as someone who enjoyed the first two seasons of iwtv are burnout syndrome (if you like ethically dubious rich people and artists and very cynical narratives about romance), moonlight chicken (for reflective and melancholy reflections on family, grief, homophobia, and gay love), shine (very well produced political drama set in the 60s/70s), ticket to heaven (90s-set drama about being gay and catholic) and shades (contemporary drama about being a lesbian and catholic).
and closer to a romantic comedy like adaap, you could try mu te luv love me if you swear (centered around thai temple traditions), hometown romance (arranged marriage between a country girl and a pampered heiress), enemies with benefits (secret office romance) and me and thee (mafia boss raised on thai telenovelas falls for introverted photograph, lovingly parodying thai cultural landmarks in the same way you may have noticed that adaap does). AND century of love for a romantic dramedy about the supernatural!!!!
whatever you do DO NOT watch the two vampire shows by gmmtv (my golden blood and revamp) they are both BAD and not bad in a fun way just like. absolutely unwatchable bullshit in the case of mgb and dreadfully boring in the case of revamp. actually i just looked it up and there are two more vampire thai bls and they both look terrible i may have to watch them <3
anyway wow the wonderful world of thai ql........ i hope you keep having fun with it and please know if you ever want to tell me what you think about it or any other tql you've watched i'll be so so delighted <3 mwah
