How to add aĀ āKeep readingā Cut
Though I enjoy a long fic or post, sometimes it can really clutter up my dash. Scrolling endlessly to try and pass one post isnāt particularly fun, and you can lose some of your audienceās attention. Some fans may even unfollow accounts that interrupt their feed with overly long posts. TheĀ āKeep readingā feature is also a great way to warn and censor mature or triggering content. and can be used to ensure consent is given before viewers see or read NSFW content. Overall, utilizing theĀ āKeep readingā feature can make your post more enjoyable and shareable.
When Should I Use āKeep Reading?ā
Thereās no hard and fast rule here, but I personally think itās better to leave your readers wanting more than overloading them. I recommend usingĀ āKeep readingā if your post is more than 1,000 words on desktop or more than 3-4 swipes on mobile. You can always use it to hide NSFW, mature, content from unsuspecting or possibly underage viewers.
How Do I UseĀ āKeep Reading?ā
On desktop, hit enter and then click the three dots orĀ āmeatballā. On mobile, type :readmore: and then click return. But since not everyone learns the same, clickĀ āKeep readingā to find more specific instructions with screenshots below the cut!
