#drama workshop

on thursday 3rd may I helped out at The White Rabbit Theatre Company.

this is a company run by two friends and busy mum’s who run after-school drama clubs & workshops for primary school aged children.

I met up with the two ladies, Anna & Katie, before my first session with them to discuss what they did and how we could help each other.

met them @ school, signed in & got this photo as proof & for school records. helped set up - tape circle wide enough for 21 6-7 year olds plus me, Anna & Katie.

warm up - Frogs in a Pond, Mash the Fruit.

I did a warm up with them that I led: sound circle 

quite tough to have 21 young children and keep them focussed - needed lots of energy, big smiles and patience.

The Legend of Merlin and King Arthur was the theme to focus on the main goal: WHOOSH. Story was told, children got to be different characters & act out as the story went along... but when Anna or Katie shouted WHOOSH all children had to run back to the circle and new people could become the characters.

Pro actor Taylor Valentine teaches drama, and life skills too

For the past 18 years, Taylor Valentine has worked as a professional actor, performing classics from Shakespeare and Jane Austen, as well as new works at NYC Fringe Festivals.
