hey there!! you're one of my fave story simblrs and have managed to stay pretty active so I thought I'd look here for advice, if you feel like giving it 👉👈 I'll condense myself down BUT when it comes to setting up scenes and stuff, do you find it fun to manage? and how do you go about planning shots? I know that I personally have tons of fun in cas/build, but when it comes to thinking about having to set up screenshots, it just feels really daunting to me? whether I plan it out strongly or not... so I was wondering what your thoughts on it were :o it might just be one of those things that some people love to do and that others think is a chore- but I've definitely been considering starting up a story a whole lot more recently, so I'd just like 2 hear how others creative processes goes in that regard!! have a nice day!!
hey!! 💖 first of all, regardless of anything i say, i 100% think you should start writing your story!! it’s something you won’t really know until you jump in, and there’s no harm in giving it a shot! that being said...
i love scene-building/prepping!! but it definitely comes in waves, and i have most/least favorite parts ofc. sometimes i love building, sometimes i dread it (usually that happens because i don’t know exactly what my vision is, so it helps to have references or a plan). i love setting up poses and taking screenshots, but i don’t like making poses myself (but i do it for the amount of personalization i can get from it – there’s so much stuff i wouldn’t be able to show if i didn’t know how to make poses). making poses is probably the most time-consuming part for me, but i didn’t start doing that until YEARS into my simblr “career” so don’t worry about it for now!! i generally love creating the little details that go into scene-setting, but it can get annoying if there’s a lot of stuff i need to make. it just depends on the scene honestly!!
oh and i don’t plan out my screenshots at all before i take them fjksjd i only know the “who, what, when, where, why” of every scene (“what” = any pose accessories, clothes, personalized stuff like notes/photos, etc.). but aside from that, i just wing it! i find it really, REALLY boring to plan out every aspect of like.. where my sims will be standing, or what types of angles i’ll use. it’s a lot more fun for me to just play around with things when i’m already in-game! but everyone is different; some people find it easier/faster to plan it out first so they don’t get burnt out. trial and error will probably be your best friend in the beginning! i hope this helps 💖💖
