I was wondering what your stance on "darker skinned" mods was? Such as Darker Skinned Isabela, Darker Fenris Morph and Original Brown Merrill? I like how the mods make the characters look and it better fits my head-cannon of them, particularily in DA2's horrible lighting, however I don't want to use them if it's offensive or inappropriate. So I was wondering what you as a First Nations, or others of color think about them. If it is offensive I would like to know and would like to understand.
Both the Darker Skinned Isabela and Original Brown Merrill mods restore the characters to more like how they looked in DA:O. Merrill originally had light brown skin, and Isabela originally had darker skin. That’s just fixing whitewashing/lightening.
I’ve used the Darker Fenris mod before making my own where he’s not quite as dark but still less affected by the weird lighting (I made a custom skin tint for him, it’s included in this mod; there are some submitted screencaps if you want to see an example). I also recommend this Sebastian mod if you have his DLC and want the same thing for him.
Anyway my opinion is they are very well done mods, and I like them. I don’t find them offensive in the slightest; what’s offensive is mods that lighten their skin
